Description: A person who has received formal training in prehospital and emergency care, and is licensed to attend any person who is ill or injured or who has a disability. Police officers, fire fighters, funeral home employees and other persons serving in a dual capacity one of which meets the definition of "emergency medical services provider" are "emergency medical services providers" within the meaning of ORS 682.

Duration: Biannual, on even-numbered years.
Fees - application, exam, etc.:  $45 application fee.

Responsible Agency: Emergency Medical Services and Trauma Systems
Fee Exemptions: No exemptions.
Examination Information: A score of 75% is required to pass the Emergency Medical Responder cognitive and practical examinations.
Continuing Ed Requirements: Complete 12 hours of continuing education as specified in Appendix 1, incorporated by reference;

Prerequisites: Must be at least 16 years of age.
Application Form: EMR Initial Application
Renewals: Shall be valid until June 30 of each even-numbered year, unless sooner revoked or suspended. The initial licensing period may not exceed 30 months. 
Duplicate: Written request in a form required by OHA-EMS with a $25 non-refundable fee.
