| Examination Information: |
Applicants approved to take an examination will be sent a "Letter of Authorization." This letter will explain the procedure for taking the examination and the address and telephone number of the test site selected.
Examination date and time is scheduled by the applicant with the test site office personnel. Upon arrival at the test site, the applicant must provide photo identification and a Letter of Authorization. If the examination is not taken within 60 days of the date of the authorization letter the applicant must submit a re-application form with the appropriate fee to schedule another exam date.
If the applicant fails the exam they may re-apply at anytime and test no sooner than 30 days after each failed exam.
Applicants are requested to bring their own pencils and calculator; scratch paper will be provided. Programmable calculators and laptop computers are not permitted.
Please allow two weeks for Building Codes Division to grade exams. Do not contact the test location for grade results. The Building Codes Division will mail notification of grade results to the applicant. Licenses will be issued after the applicant has passed the examination.
Limited Renewable Energy Technician: Open-book examination: 28 multiple-choice questions (two-hour time limit).

Licensing and Certification Examination Process |
| Continuing Ed Requirements: |
During Each three-year license period, all licensees shall compete a minimum of 4 hours of approved code change continuing education, unless otherwise directed by the board. Please see the Electrical Calendar at Training & Continuing Education |

| Prerequisites: |
Follow the requirements outlined in OAR 918-282-0205for general licensing criteria.
A. Complete a two-year apprenticeship program as outlined in ORS 479.630 and OAR 918-282-0205OR,
B. Provide verifiable proof acceptable to the division of equivalent experience as outlined in ORS 479.630 and OAR 918-282-0205 (3).
C. Submit proof of classroom training as outlined in OAR 918-282-0205.

Renewal fee is $50. A renewal notice will be mailed to the licensee approximately six weeks prior to the expiration of their license. Current cycle expires 10/1/2014. |
